Intent, Implementation and Intent

PSHE has a vitally important part to play in children’s personal development, both within school and the wider world.

An ambitious and effective PSHE curriculum supports children to be happy, healthy and safe, regardless of their background.

It teaches children to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves and others safe and healthy. It prepares them for later life and future employment within British society.

PSHE helps children form positive attitudes and beliefs about friendships, feelings and sexuality whilst encouraging them to make responsible and informed decisions about their own health and wellbeing. It teaches rights and responsibilities, builds resilience, and supports mental health and wellbeing.
