The children in Year Three are spreading some Christmas cheer by wearing their festive jumpers to school. They had the opportunity to look at all the different patterns on their jumpers, exploring what is different and similar. Year 3 LOVE their countdown Santa, excited about the big man in red to arrive on Christmas Eve.
The children in Y3 have been experimenting with a variety of techniques using both charcoal and pencil tones. They have used skills such as cross-hatching, stippling and hatching. We have explored when we use these different mark-making skills and discussed what technique will create the darker tones in our drawings.
Year 3 were finding / testing different systems to see how they work. We experimented with numerous pieces of equipment to show how a pneumatic system works. Our vocabulary focus for the next upcoming lessons will be' Air pressure and compressed Air'. As a class we discussed how for a pneumatic system to work, air needs to be tightly squashed in a confined space to make something move.
