DT workshop ( making playgrounds)

Within year 6 to celebrate NSPCC number day we firstly discussed who NSPCC are. We played multiplication and division games which the children really enjoyed testing and challenging their own understanding. Alongside this we also had a mathematical investigation in which year 6 had to solve this. Finally the class played some dice games to test their multiplication skills.
Safer internet day 2026
Year 6 took part in a BBC live lesson about safer internet day. The children learnt about AI (artificial intelligence). Within this interactive lesson, the children designed their own Chatbot(AI) and alongside this came up with their own set of rules that the Chatbot would adhere to.

Here is a summary of what your child will be doing during the Autumn 1 term.
Year 6 World War II Reenactment
Step back in time with Year 6 as they bring history to life by recreating the tense atmosphere of an air raid shelter during the early days of World War II. Children will experience what it may have felt like to take cover as the nation prepared for conflict. The reenactment will also feature a powerful reading of Neville Chamberlain’s famous speech, declaring that Britain was at war with Germany in 1939. This immersive performance will give a real sense of the fear, uncertainty, and resilience shown by ordinary people during this pivotal moment in history.
Welcome to Year 6!
We are excited to begin our journey together in what will be a memorable and rewarding final year of primary school. Year 6 is a time to grow in confidence, challenge ourselves, and celebrate achievements—both big and small.
Throughout the year, we will explore new ideas, work hard to prepare for the transition to secondary school, and enjoy opportunities to shine across all areas of learning. Most importantly, our classroom is a place where everyone feels safe, valued, and encouraged to do their very best.
We can’t wait to share our learning, successes, and experiences with you as the year unfolds!

Year 6 held a reading workshop where parents were invited to read with their children. The workshop was to encourage families to enjoy books together and share the love of reading. It was a great opportunity for children to share their favourite books and also to inspire them to read more.
